Jim “Sports” Kelly boasts an impressive career in broadcasting. In 40 years, the Emmy Award and Cable Ace Award-winning Kelly has developed quite a name for himself as his voice resonates around the globe. He has covered thousands of sporting events, from hockey to horseracing, basketball to bowling, and everything in between.

The highly esteemed sportscaster has worked for several major networks since the early 1970s, including ESPN, CBS Sports, and the Golf Channel. He had a stint in 1979 through 1982 in Philadelphia on the sports desk at WCAU, which was then CBS-owned. It was during his time at WCAU that he got tagged Jim “Sports” Kelly, and it stuck ever since.

In the mid 1980s, Kelly began broadcasting golf for ESPN and became known as “the voice of the Senior Tour,” later renamed the Champions Tour. Through 2000, he covered roughly 30 golf tournaments per year. When the Champions Tour was picked up by the Golf Channel, Kelly was on board.

Throughout the many years of broadcasting golf around the world, Kelly has befriended some of he most elite players of the game, including Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods.
When not on the mic, Kelly picks up the clubs. Not surprisingly, he lives off the 10th fairway at Park Meadows Country Club in Park City, UT, where he enjoys golfing in the warmer months, and skiing in the winter.
